I’m so glad you’re interested in documenting your child through the timeless tradition of heirloom portraits.
You blink, and they’ve changed. The chubby cheeks, the baby curls, the gap-toothed grin — it all fades before we realize it’s gone. And no matter how many photos we snap, it never quite feels like we’ve caught it.
That’s why I offer heirloom portrait sessions.
A cherished part of Southern tradition, heirloom portraits have long been a way to honor childhood with care and intention. Inspired by the elegance of early portraiture, these images are simple, classic, and focused entirely on your child. No props. No distractions. Just clean light, honest expression, and timeless detail.
Each portrait is thoughtfully composed, meticulously edited, and transformed into fine art you can display in your home — and one day, pass on. These aren’t just photographs. They’re a way of saying: This mattered. This season was worth remembering.
I would be honored to help you preserve it.
Once you’re ready to reserve your date, your session fee secures your spot on the calendar. From there, I’ll send over a beautifully curated Heirloom Portrait Guide with everything you need to feel prepared — including what to expect, how to prep your little one, and where to shop for timeless wardrobe pieces.
the full process
The Heirloom Portrait Guide will walk you through how to choose classic, neutral clothing and keep the morning smooth and stress-free. I’ll also include a few tips to help your child feel relaxed and confident when it’s time to be in front of the camera.
Heirloom sessions take place in a bright, natural-light studio with a simple, distraction-free setup. Sessions are calm, child-led, and quick — usually around 10–20 minutes — with gentle direction and posing that keeps your child at ease.
After your session, I’ll prepare a proofing gallery with a curated selection of partially edited portraits in both color and black & white — typically 5–10 images. These soft edits are meant to give you a true feel for the final results while you make your selections.
Once you’ve had a chance to view your gallery, you’ll choose your favorite portraits for printing. I’ll then fully retouch those selected images with great care, giving them the finishing touches they deserve. You’ll also decide which fine art products you'd like to order using your $150 print credit.
Your artwork will be printed by trusted fine art labs using archival materials made to last. Whether you choose matted prints, wall frames, or another heirloom piece, your child’s portraits will be preserved as meaningful, lasting treasures.
Each heirloom session is crafted with intention — no fuss, just timeless, beautiful images of your child. Here’s what’s included with your heirloom session fee:

Heirloom sessions are typically best suited for little ones who are solid sitters (usually around +/- 8 months) through age 6, or before your child starts losing their baby teeth. That said, children of any age are welcome to participate.
Portrait sessions are held at Rose + Salt Studio in Edmond, OK. The studio features soft natural light and a clean, neutral backdrop, creating the perfect setting for timeless, distraction-free portraits.
Yes — as long as it’s not during a special heirloom event. When booking a private heirloom session, you can add a traditional mini session for $300 — a $75 savings from my standard petite session. This includes 10 digital images from the mini session only.
Heirloom vignette portraits are not included in this set, and digital files of heirloom images are only gifted with the purchase of a corresponding print product.

Don’t worry—I’ve worked with lots of little wiggle worms! The session is very short and relaxed, and I keep things playful. Most kids do great, especially with a bit of encouragement from mom or dad nearby. If your child needs a break or a snack, we’ll take a moment and try again.

Digitals (both a color and b&w version) are included with every physical print you purchase. I believe your heirloom images deserve to be more than just a file — and I’d love to help you turn them into keepsakes.
