Baby Luca – All Film Newborn Session
I can’t tell you how long I have wanted to take the leap and shoot an all film newborn session. This past summer I took the chance to shoot a maternity session completely on film and it was so rewarding for me to do! I LOVED how it turned out. However, doing a newborn session completely on film still scared me a little bit. For one, I would have to work with strobes instead of natural light, making it a little more tricky. However, I have recently studied under the amazing film photographer, Sandra Coan, on how to shoot film indoors. Therefore, I thought it was about time I put my newfound knowledge to work.
Thanks to a fellow film photographer, Amy Rau, I was able to take the leap on capturing my first newborn session completely in film. I chose to use Fuji 400H and rated it at 400 with both my Canon 1V and Pentax 645n cameras. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. Implementing film into more of my newborn sessions will definitely be on my radar! Enjoy! 🙂
