Film Photographer Captures Big Cedar Lodge
As a film photographer, there is not a place I travel to without my 35mm camera. Recently my family and I traveled to Ridgedale, MO where we enjoyed a few days at Big Cedar Lodge. It’s the perfect little getaway place for a half a day’s worth of driving. I had been once before during my college years and I remember it being so beautiful. Unfortunately, back then I didn’t even own a nice camera so this time I made sure to bring one. This place is beautiful and I wanted to make sure and capture its charm while I was there.
One of my go-to stops when visiting Big Cedar is Truman’s Coffee & Cafe. It’s a cute little cottage style restaurant that serves the best sandwiches around. They also have amazing coffee drinks and smoothies. My go to is the smoked turkey & swiss sandwich. It’s topped off with cranberry mayonnaise, bibb lettuce, tomato, red onion and thick soft wheat bread! I’m telling you it is scrumptious! So if you ever go there, make sure to order it.
Another favorite place of mine at this gorgeous resort is The Garden Chapel. It is a beautiful white chapel that sits conveniently on a hill in the middle of Big Cedar. As you drive into the resort it’s one of the first things you will see and the sight will take your breath away! Oh, what I would do to capture a wedding there someday! If you’re a Big Cedar bride looking for a film photographer to capture your day contact me here. It would make my day!
A little side note, this trip was actually my first time to use my new Canon 1V film camera. I love this 35mm so much! It definitely did not disappoint.
