I didn’t expect to dive into wedding photography. Actually, when I started my business a year and a half ago the thought of a wedding intimidated me greatly! Seven months into my business though, I agreed to my first one and now in the year 2017 I have more weddings booked than I ever thought I would in my first year and a half of business and I couldn’t be more grateful! I love capturing all the pretty details and the unique story of every couple. This particular wedding was my first one for the year and it was also my first out of state wedding! My sister-in-law Amanda and her (now) husband Troy entrusted me with their big day and so at the beginning of March my husband and I headed out for Waco, TX! We went a day early so I could go to the famous Magnolia Market and boy was it worth it! So many pretty things to see and fun things to do. If you ever plan a trip there though I highly recommend going on a weekday though. The weekends are crazy packed with people!
Amanda started her day by getting ready at “The Gorman House” in Waco. This was actually a Fixer Upper home featured in the first season of the show, which is now rented out as a VRBO. While she got ready, the bridesmaids and close friends and family came over to enjoy a brunch featuring a mimosa bar complete with three types of juices and fruit for toppings! Who doesn’t love starting their day off with a glass of champagne?
After getting the finishing touches done on her makeup by Southern Belles Beauty and slipping on her beautiful dress we proceeded with the first look and formal bride & groom pictures. We were so thankful the rain that had been coming down that day stopped long enough to get pictures outdoors, featuring the beautiful house!
The wedding ceremony was held at St. Louis Catholic Church and was proceeded by a reception located at The Hall.
