Oklahoma Maternity Photographer | The Lord Is Faithful

“So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for He will never fail you!”
– 1 Peter 4:19 (emphasis my own)
I’ve had these photos of my friends Bekah and Nathan under lockdown for a few weeks now and it has been so hard not to share them.  For one, I just LOVED how Bekah put this shoot together.  She has such gift for design and it definitely shined through during her session.  The vintage buggy that she painted, the flowers, the pastel dress… I was amazed!  If I ever do a styled shoot that I put together for fun, I am definitely calling her.  Seriously, she is the JoAnna Gaines of Oklahoma.  You should see what she can do with a house!  I’m thinking she should drop her dental hygiene gig and do remodeling/designing full time!
On a more serious note, another reason I could not wait to share these pictures is because of the story behind them.  You see, these friends of mine have been through a very difficult past two years.  They have longed for a baby of their own, yet have dealt not only with infertility issues but two miscarriages!  The heartbreak and discouragement these two (along with their friends and family) have been through has caused them a lot of suffering.  It is probably a trial they would rather not have gone through. However,  through the darkness of it all, God’s faithfulness has filled it with light!
Bekah is again pregnant, but THIS time it is different!
THIS time she has carried her precious child longer than she has any of the others!
THIS time she has had multiple confirmations that this precious life is going to thrive!
THIS time, I truly believe, she and Nathan are going to experience the blessing they have deeply longed for!  You know why?  Because through their storm, they both demonstrated faith in God and sought Him earnestly.  And now, because of their faith, He is in the process of rewarding them. (“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” – Hebrews 11:6)
A great testament of this faith comes from Bekah’s Blog where in the midst of her trial she stated, “I do believe we will be parents one day. I believe we will have our own baby(ies), but even if we don’t, I trust God. I trust His plans for us, because they are far greater than my own. My faith has grown vastly through this trial. I’m truly thankful for this dry season, because that’s when the ground can soak up the most water – God’s faithful water that is flooding over me.”
God is so GREAT!  Sometimes He makes us wait.  Sometimes He doesn’t work on our timetable.  Sometimes He is working on maturing our faith and molding us in the midst of our burdens; refining us by fire, to become a better reflection of Him.  But there’s no doubt about it, He is FAITHFUL and He will NEVER fail us!
“These trials will show that your faith is genuine.  It is being tested as fire test and purifies gold– though your faith is far more precious than mere gold.  So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world!” – 1 Peter 1:7
A little side note, but very important detail about Bekah’s session is that the flower arrangement was not just put together randomly, it was purposefully thought out.  Each white rose represents each month Bekah and Nathan waited to conceive and each pink flower represents the two little lives that Bekah once carried, but in God’s plan, went home to be with Him.
Although, God is moving and doing AMAZING things for Bekah and Nathan please keep them in your prayers.  Say one for the fears that the enemy may throw their way in the upcoming months and say one for their little bun in the oven, due in May, that he or she will continue to thrive and join us soon!
